Balance Your Life & Stay Healthy

Balance in our every day living is a must for a holistic life. Genuine health requires harmony in the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical (SMEP) aspects of our person-hood. We were designed to work, play, and rest. We were designed to be spiritual. Every part of our well being is effected be our choices. What we sow we will reap.

I'm an expert on doing too much. I have many interests and passions. All worthy. After my recent opportunity to join Celebrate Recovery I was able to take steps to becoming emotionally and mentally healthy. I have found a whole new world has been opened up to me. I struggle with paper. I didn't for most of my life, however, when my life took an unexpected and difficult turn I was inundated with paper work. I found one day I couldn't handle
paper any longer. I was severely out of balance.

My past abuse still haunted me though I thought I had reckoned with it. Christ had help me to forgive and move on. I realized I had stuffed other abuses and focused on the most traumatic. I am far from the only one who had been hurt; many worse than me.  We suffer from past hurts such as abandonment, abuse or other forms of trauma, these experiences when stuffed harm us; we must "work" to heal. We cannot skip this step. Grief is real. Learning to cope and moving through the steps steadily is healthy. Here is how it manifests itself:

We don't have to do it alone.

So what does it look like? It is different for each of us. I have attending Celebrate Recovery for over a year. I am making baby steps. Spiritually, I am spending more real quiet time with the Lord. Mentally, I am working on focusing myself more positively and I still read and educate myself on my passions. Emotionally, I am reaching out for help from my core group of friends and counselors. Physically, I am continuing my effort to increase my good choices and decrease my bad. Steady effort.  Perfect. Not hardly. I remain steadfast.

As for the paper problem, I hired someone to help me get "IT" under control. We work together which gives me the satisfaction of getting to be genuinely involved in this critical step. Also, I am more and more productive and relaxed. Baby steps.
